Jerry McLendon has been teaching for over 50 years. His philosophy is that everyone can benefit from piano lessons and everyone can be inspired by the process of learning to play. Jerry believes in allowing for students to determine themselves what type of music they like and what style they find most interesting.
Jerry does not know how young he was when he started playing the piano because his mother put him performing in public at 4 years of age. Jerry started teaching piano and French Horn at the age of 18. He attended the University of Alabama with a full scholarship in French Horn. Jerry then went to Florida State University & University of Michigan for graduate school where he majored in organ performance, theory /composition and French Horn.

The main emphasis can be summed up in saying...
YOU are the person in charge of your lessons and how you learn. It is the instructor's job to assess your needs as an individual and help you attain your goals. Music needs to be enjoyable and relaxing, not frustrating and stress-inducing. Jerry will patiently guide you through this process.
